In blackjack, the most widely used and most successful methods of cheating have been the ones which have been done with the help of the dealer. Cheating with the help of the dealer is known as dealer collusion and in the past there have been several instances where players have joined hands with the dealer in order to cheat at blackjack. Dealers are quite well aware of what would work and what wouldn’t and know about all the different techniques like false card shuffles, cuts and false deals with the help of which they can ensure that his/her partner wins at the game.
False Deals and Cuts
One of the most widely used cheating methods used by the dealers is false cuts and deals. Basically, these are the methods with which the dealers would make it appear as if they are dealing and cutting the cards as it would be required according to the rules and regulations of the casinos when in fact they are not cutting the cards at all.
With the help of advanced hand moves and concealing techniques, the dealers are able to pull off such moves. In casinos, where there are supervisors and pit bosses watching every move of the dealer, there are a few dealers who are able to flawlessly pull off this trick even when all eyes are on them. By doing so, they ensure that they are able to deal just the card they want to their partner in order to allow him/her to win the hand.
False Card Shuffles

False card shuffle again is very used by the dealers. In fact, this move is also used by many card trick magicians. With false shuffle, the dealer would make it appear as if the/she is shuffling the cards just as it would be required according to the rules when in fact the cards are not being shuffled at all and all the cards in the deck are in the same position.
False Dovetail Shuffle
The false dovetail shuffle is the most commonly used technique which is used to keep the top card in its place. The cards would be shuffled normally but the dealer would ensure that the last card to fall would be the top card. If more than one cards on the top of the deck have to be kept in place, then the dealer would ensure that the upper half of the cut deck would be larger than the lower.
False Overhand Shuffle
In this technique the deck is held in one hand and the cards are pulled up and then dropped randomly with the others. The deck has to be held on its side in the left hand and if the top card has to be retained the cards have to face the thumb and if the bottom card has to be retained the deck has to be facing the fingertips. Then, when the cards are shuffled in the normal way the card on the top or the bottom would be retained in its place.
