During the 1950s there had been numerous players who had been very successful at cheating at casinos using several different methods. Jerry Palmer was one such player. He, along with several other players, has been a part of one of the most famous casino cheating teams of all times.
Background
Jerry Palmer was born in the year 1948 and he had first got interested in gambling when he was in the army. However, while he was in army he did not know of any methods and was not able to practise cheating in fully.
His knowledge of cheating at casinos first came from a person named Duke Swenson, who had been his high school friend. Jerry Palmer had been given an honorable discharge from the Army later. It was at this time that he met Duke Swenson in California.
Duke Swenson himself had been in a small time marijuana business in San Francisco and had been running a Pastposting team as well on the side. Duke Swenson in turn had himself met Joe Classon some time back. Duke, Classon and Duke’s girlfriend had then formed a team and had made quite a lot of money at various casinos in Reno and Las Vegas using the pastposting technique. Jerry heard of his friend’s stories and was fascinated with the lure of big and easy money and agreed to join them.
Cheating Career
Jerry Palmer had been a part of the famous Classon's pastposting team which had worked only on craps and roulette tables in 1969 and in 1970. They made several trips to the casinos and it was during one such trip that Jerry had suggested using pastposting on the blackjack tables too. However, the others had dismissed the idea since it was very risky because the dealers in blackjack are always very attentive and very close to the players. However, Jerry on his own went to a blackjack table and very confidently tried his first ever cheating move in the Aladdin casino in Las Vegas while the other team members looked on at the entire scene in a surprised manner.
Jerry not just cheated at one table, but at every blackjack table at the casino and got paid using the same technique. He initially only used the $100 chips but he soon moved up to and started using the $500 and then the $1000 chips for cheating. Jerry had been incredibly successful at his cheating technique and had a payout rate of more than 95%. Since then, blackjack had become the main area of pastposting for the team and it had been used by them for several years.
Later in his life, Jerry had become a major drug addict and had quit the team and cheating casino business. Two years after he left the business, he died in 1994 of an overdose.
Jerry Palmer is known to be the inventor of the blackjack move in pastposting which has been tried by thousands of players since then and has won millions of dollars for cheaters.
